Graduate Certificate in
ADDITIVE 
MANUFACTURING

Course Objective: 
The Graduate Certificate (GC) in Additive Manufacturing (AM) offers a comprehensive coverage of topics that are of great relevance to the local manufacturing industry, including precision, aerospace and biomedical engineering; these topics span the processes and material design to challenges that are faced by the industry in adopting and developing related AM technologies. The modules offered in this GC programme will enhance the knowledge and expertise of the engineers and prepare them for new challenges in the AM-related industry.


Who May Apply: 
Any Bachelor degree holders, in particular B.Eng. (Mechanical Engineering) degree and B.Eng. (Materials Science and Engineering), or equivalent.


How Many Modules To Complete: 
Select 6 out of 8 modules


Credit transfers to Master of Science (MSc)
Credit transfers for module(s) with grade B or higher is allowed, if relevant to the MSc (Mechanical Engineering) programme applied for and subject to the approval from the host department.

Candidature Period and Duration 
Maximum period of candidature is 2 years. 


Award of Graduate Certificate 
Upon successful completion of 12 MCs with a Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of at least 2.50 out of 5 will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Additive Manufacturing. 


Per Module Contact Hours 
The contact hours for a 2-MC module will be between 18 - 20 hours in total, which include lectures and/or projects and discussions, and assessments. 


Note: Students can take individual modules without registering for the Graduate Certificate. The credits earned can be considered to the Graduate Certificate.
