Graduate Certificate in
INTERNET of THINGS (loT) 

Course Objective: 
This programme aims to address the gap in the skills in the current workforce by providing industry relevant education in the area of Internet of Things (loT) for graduates with relevant interest and background. The modules in the GC cover fundamental and applied topics in the area of loT including the communication and networking requirements, data analytics, industrial control systems, and cyber security. The programme provides opportunities for working professionals, practicing engineers and university graduates to upgrade their knowledge and skill in the area of loT. 


Who May Apply: 
The programme is open to graduates with a relevant undergraduate degree and/or work experience.   


How Many Modules To Complete: 
16 MCs, i.e. 8 out of 10 2-MC modules


Criteria to stack towards the MSc (Electrical Engineering)  
MCs earned from relevant module(s) with minimum B- grade (grade Point 3) may be transferred to the MSc programme subject to department's approval.'


Candidature Period and Duration 
Maximum period of candidature is 3 years. 


Award of Graduate Certificate 
A Certificate of Participation will be awarded for completion of each module. Successful completion of 16 modular credits with a Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of at least 2.50 out of 5 will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Internet of Things (loT). 


Per Module Contact Hours 
The contact hours for a 2-MC module will be between 18 - 20 hours in total, which include lectures, tutorials, projects & discussions, and assessments. Classes are conducted during weekday evenings and weekends. 


Note: Students can take individual modules without registering for the Graduate Certificate. The credits earned can be considered to the Graduate Certificate once registered.
