A SpC can be completed between 6 and 24 months depending on the number of modules required in the Course.

Certificate course candidates who have performed satisfactorily can enroll in the Bachelor of Technology degree programme, and the credits of modules completed in the Course will be transferred (with grades obtained) to count towards the requirements of the Bachelor of Technology degree.

Such double counting is permissible and you will be allowed to re-use the module(s) completed for the first certificate course in your second course. However, if you subsequently take up a 3rd certificate course and wish to use those same modules again, a transfer fee of S$500 for each module will apply. No subsidy will be given for transfer fees.

The list of courses that eligible Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents can enjoy tuition fee subsidy are as follows:

a) Specialist Certificate in Separation Technology & Pharmaceuticals
b) Specialist Certificate in Process Engineering & Modeling
c) Specialist Certificate in Process Control & Optimization
d) Specialist Certificate in Microelectronics

* Fee subsidy is currently under review by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Yes, you are still eligible for the tuition fee subsidy, but the subsidy will only apply to you whilst you are doing the certificate course. If you subsequently enrol for the Bachelor of Technology degree programme, the subsidy will no longer apply.

As you can receive the SSG tuition fee subsidy only once on a required module in the SpC Course, repeated module(s), if any, will be charged at the full fee rate.

As the SSG tuition fee subsidy only covers the minimum number of modules for the fulfilment of the requirements of each SpC Course, any additional module(s) read will be charged at the full fee rate.

A Cumulative Average Point (CAP) will be calculated for all modules completed under the SpC enrolment. The details of the types of certificate to be awarded are as follows:

Type of Certificate Criteria
Certificate of Competence with Merit SpC student who successfully completed all required modules with an overall CAP of 3.00 and above
Certificate of Competence SpC student who successfully completed all required modules with an overall CAP of 2.00 to 2.99
Certificate of Attendance SpC student who completed all required modules with an overall CAP below 2.00
