Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Programmes

Studying on a part-time basis, with classes on weekday evenings and the occasional weekend, our students typically take about 4 to 4½ years to complete all degree requirements. To enable students to better plan for the financing of their studies, BTech fees are charged on the cohort-based system in practice in NUS since AY2008/09. Under the cohort-based fee system, tuition fees for an intake cohort of students is fixed throughout the student's candidature. While fees continue to be reviewed annually and adjustments made as and when necessary with each new cohort of students, each new cohort will know the approximate total tuition fees they have to pay throughout their candidature. The Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) provides eligible Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) taking undergraduate degree programmes for the first time in local universities, even if on a part-time basis, with a substantial tuition fee subsidy.

For the cohort of AY2018/19,

BTech (Computing) Programmes: Tuition fees for the programmes is around $125,000. After subsidy, the tuition fees payable by Singaporeans and SPRs are around $19,000 and $35,000 respectively.

BTech (Engineering) Programmes: Tuition fees for the programmes is around $60,000. After subsidy, the tuition fees payable by Singaporeans and SPRs will be around $17,000 and $30,000 respectively.

Apart from tuition fees, students will have to pay an Administrative Fee (of $234) and Student Services Fee (as published by NUS Registrar’s Office) every regular semester, except Special Term.

Specialist Certificate (SpC) Courses

Similar to BTech programmes, SpC courses are also offered on a part-time basis and are designed to be completed anywhere between 6 and 24 months. As this is a comparatively shorter-term commitment than a part-time degree programme with students having the flexibility to decide the pace of their studies, fees are charged on an enrolment basis. At any point in time, an enrolled SpC student will be charged fees at the prevailing rates.

The total tuition fees payable is based on the total modular credits (MC) weightage of the modules taken in each semester. Eligible Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents enrolled in SpC courses are given a substantial tuition fee subsidy by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Apart from tuition fees, students will have to pay a Student Service Fee of $261.85 (inclusive of prevailing GST, presently at 7%) every regular semester, except Special Term.

(All fees quoted here are exclusive of prevailing GST, unless otherwise stated. The University reserves all rights to review fees as necessary and adjust accordingly without prior notice.)
