Introduction of Lean Six Sigma

Lean Six Sigma is a methodology widely used in industry to improve process and deliver better results. Most suited to the manufacturing and services sectors, Lean Six Sigma equips industry professionals with a comprehensive set of tools and strategies to improve performance, eliminate waste, enhance collaboration, to keep organisations operating efficiently and delivering satisfactory standards.

The Lean Six Sigma programmes, offered at NUS SCALE, are delivered through eLearning for Foundation programme and blended learning for Advanced programme. Blended learning combines the best of classroom instruction with online learning. Developed with BMGI, a leading Lean Six Sigma course provider, the Lean Six Sigma @ NUS SCALE certification meets the highest accreditation standards and is recognized by the International Association of Six Sigma Certification (IASSC).

Lean Six Sigma Foundation (Yellow Belt)

The Lean Six Sigma Foundation programme introduces process improvement methodologies, which enhance day-to-day operational management and process control. Participants will acquire the skills for mapping processes and data collection, paving the way for effective project work and sustaining improved performance.

The programme employs interactive, web-based eLearning, accessible across desktop and mobile platforms. This provides participants with the time flexibility of being able to decide when and where they want to complete their modules, as well as providing a broader, richer learning experience.

Lean Six Sigma Advanced (Green Belt)

Lean Six Sigma Advanced builds upon Lean Six Sigma Foundation, to further enhance participants’ competencies in project team leadership and problem-solving.

Using the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) roadmap, participants are trained to collect and analyse performance data, identify inefficiencies and problems, and then to institute new protocols to improve processes.

The Advanced programme includes change management modules to provide participants with the knowledge and tools to lead and communicate change, as well as to analyse and develop effective intervention throughout the various project phases. The blended learning approach includes webinars, practice-oriented workshops, interactive lectures, and personalised mentor sessions with our expert, using real-life projects from the work place.

Lean Six Sigma Expert (Black Belt)

Lean Six Sigma Expert (Black Belt) gives you the skills you need to lead teams through breakthrough improvements and support strategic objectives in any function or department of any organisation.

Upholding the rigour and standards of the university, NUS SCALE's Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Expert programme prepares you to solve a wide variety of difficult problems across a wide spectrum of industries, including transactional, service, manufacturing and healthcare, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative methods from the complementary domains of Lean Six Sigma.

This programme also prepares participants for their role as change agents in training and mentoring, facilitating and leading projects, supporting broader performance excellence efforts and serving as internal consultants.

A differentiating aspect of this programme is the inclusion of creative-thinking modules that can be used within the structure of DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) to dislodge a team’s thinking when members are mired in their own assumptions and familiarity with their processes.
