Mr Naveen Menon serves on Cisco’s Strategic Execution Office, leading multiple, diverse teams across the company to deliver the Internet for the Future and Capabilities at the Edge. He is responsible for driving the delivery of offers in the 5G/Edge domains in close partnership with the Strategy, Emerging Technologies & Incubation team, the Mass Infrastructure Group, as well the oneX, CX, Go-to-Market, Finance and Legal teams. Prior to this role, Naveen was the President for Cisco Systems in Southeast Asia, leading the P&L and go-to-market operations for all Cisco products and services across 10 countries. He is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Cisco Foundation.
Prior to joining Cisco, Naveen led the Communications, Media and Technology practice for the strategy consulting firm Kearney in Asia Pacific. He consulted to Chief Executive Officers and Boards of the largest telecom service providers worldwide; public sector organisations and multiple hardware, software, infocomm technology and media companies. Topics ranged from strategy, mergers and acquisitions/investments, digital transformation, operations improvement, public policy and organisation restructuring.
Naveen is a knowledge advisor to the World Economic Forum, attending the Annual Meeting in Davos in 2014 and 2015. He has been active in the domain of data privacy, policy, ethics and digital justice since 2013. He is currently a board member of Digital ASEAN, the Regional Action Group, and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Data Policy.
Naveen has a deep passion on how technology can support social outcomes. In 2012, he started up and led Kearney’s global Social Impact practice and has worked with closely non-profits, social enterprises, industry associations and governments, on a wide range of topics across sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, economic development and education. His corporate social responsibility work in Cisco has focused on driving social impact across K-12 education, environmental programs and economic development (in particular gender parity and social entrepreneurship).
He is a member of the Young President’s Organisation, the global leadership community of chief executives across 142 countries; and sits on the Industry Advisory Board of the NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education. He served two terms as the Chair of the ICT Committee for the US-ASEAN Business Policy Council (2018–-2022). He is regularly featured on television, in print and in the online press, including BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg and Channel News Asia, and is an experienced speaker and facilitator in large global conferences.
Naveen began his career at General Electric Corporation where he was part of the Corporate Audit Staff and was trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt. He has a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering degree from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and a Master of Business Administration degree from INSEAD (Fontainebleau/Singapore).
