NUS SCALE to future-proof CapitaLand workforce with suite of digital learning programmes
14 August 2019 – The NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (NUS SCALE) will offer a range of digital courses to upskill CapitaLand employees to be digital-savvy and future-ready.
To deepen their competencies for the future workplace, employees can enrol in curated courses on data analytics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity. Customised training tailored to address specific skills development gaps will also be made available.
A Memorandum of Understanding to set up a Company Training Committee (CTC) was signed between CapitaLand and the Singapore Industrial & Services Employees’ Union (SISEU). It seeks to design and provide training programmes to prepare employees to meet the challenges in today’s fast changing business environment.
The signing, which took place on the sidelines of the CapitaLand Learning Festival at Capital Tower, was witnessed by Guest-of-Honour Dr Koh Poh Koon, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress, Mr Sazali Zainal, President of SISEU, and Mr Lee Chee Koon, Group Chief Executive Officer of CapitaLand Group.
Dr Koh said that digitalisation was no longer a thing of the future – and that as companies digitalised and transformed – it was equally important for employees to be well equipped with the necessary competencies to harness technology to be more productive.
“The CTCs can be leveraged as a ground-up approach to ensure that employees are aligned with a company’s transformation efforts, help address any skills gaps, and encourage both parties to grow and succeed together.”
Other training partners of the CTC included NTUC LearningHub, e2i (Employment and Employability Institute), SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore.
