NUS SGUnited Skills Programme e-Orientation
28 August 2020 — NUS SCALE welcomed its inaugural cohort of SGUnited Skills Programme students in a virtual orientation on 25 August 2020. The students are enrolled in two NUS SGUnited Skills Programmes: the programme in 5D BIM for Built Environment Professionals, as well as the one in Manufacturing Robotics and Automation.
The SGUnited Skills Programme is a full-time training programme, delivered over six to nine months, and designed to help professionals affected by the economic impact of COVID-19 to acquire and apply industry-relevant skills and improve their employability.
The students were warmly welcomed by Professor Susanna Leong, Vice Provost, Master’s Programmes & Lifelong Learning and Dean for NUS SCALE, who in her address encouraged students to be active lifelong learners.
This was followed by an overview of NUS and the programme, where students learnt about the NUS story and were also taken on a guided e-tour of various NUS portals and e-platforms available to support their learning by Senior Librarian, Ms Jamila Osman.
The e-orientation ended with breakout sessions where students met and heard from faculty members teaching the respective programmes.
We wish all students a fruitful and rewarding time with NUS as they embark on their new journey to refresh themselves and pursue greater knowledge.
