The current version (2.1) contains new materials that show how people/businesses may adopt the creative thinking skills in addressing the new world challenges brought on by COVID-19.
Data and Artificial Intelligence Literacy (1 month)
Professional Certificate in Artificial Intelligence for Non-AI scientists
In this course, you will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of Artificial Intelligence. The programming skills introduced will provide the tools and framework for the development of data analytics and machine learning programmes widely used in AI. You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to identify possible applications of AI in your workplace, be it to meet operational, customer support or business support challenges.
Data Science for Construction, Architecture and Engineering
This course introduces data science skills targeting applications in the design, construction, and operations of buildings. You will learn practical coding within this context with an emphasis on basic Python programming and the Pandas library.
Professional and Technological Literacy (4 months)
Professional Certificate in 5D BIM for Built Environment Professionals (Contract Management)
In this course, you will learn the fundamental of model viewing, checking and how to extract required information related to 5D BIM. You will acquire the skills to use different BIM viewers to navigate the BIM models. You will also gain an awareness of the fundamentals of contract law, legal implications of BIM, the BCA BIM Particular Conditions and dispute management principles.
Professional Certificate in 5D BIM for Built Environment Professionals (Project Management)
This course presents the fundamentals of project management as applied in the built environment. You will learn how various project management principles and concepts can be applied in practice. It includes project life cycles, stakeholders, processes, integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk and procurement. There will be a quiz at the end to affirm your understanding of the fundamentals.
Professional Certificate in 5D BIM for Built Environment Professionals (Cost Management)
In this course, you will learn how to integrate design with estimating, and costing, including generation of bills of quantities, and cost analysis.
Professional Certificate in Spatial Computational Thinking
In this Professional Certificate Program, you will learn the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for leveraging computation for the manipulation of various types of spatial data. The program consists of four courses, starting with the fundamentals and gradually increase in complexity.
- The first course – Procedural Modelling – focuses on the fundamentals of procedural programming in a 3D environment. You will learn to write computational procedures using data structures and control-flow statements to automatically produce geometric models.
- The second course – Semantic Modelling – focuses on augmenting geometric models with an additional layer of semantic information. You will learn how geometric entities can be tagged with additional attributes, and how these attributes can then be used for querying your models.
- The third course – Generative Modelling – focuses on generating complex spatial information models capturing various relationships and constraints. You will learn how to tackle challenging problems by integrating multiple procedures that work together to generate spatial information models.
- The fourth course – Performative Modelling – focuses on evaluating alternative spatial configurations to support evidence-based decision making. You will learn methods for calculating various spatial performance metrics related to the built environment that can be used for comparative analysis of design options.
Project Work
You will get to experience a real case project with the use of a set of BIM Model with 2D drawings and specifications. You will analyse the model to detect issues, perform BIM Quantification and produce the Bill of Quantities. At the end of the project, you will be required to produce a set of project deliverables.
