Course Objectives

This ICAgile accredited course examines the roles and responsibilities of team members working on agile projects, delves into the specific practices which are used on agile projects, explains the theory and concepts behind the agile approach and prepares team members to be immediately productive working in an agile environment. 

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of what to expect on an agile project and the skills to be effective in one. The course, designed and built locally, covers the philosophy, values, principles and background of the agile methodology. It explains the flow, the processes and the environment of an agile project, giving participants an overall understanding of the agile world and the tools and techniques used in delivering value. It presents a structure for defining value and ensuring the project delivers the right product at the right time for the right customer.

At the end of this course, participants will learn:
• The background to agile development
• The roles and responsibilities of an agile project team
• The various tools available to agile teams    
• The collaboration required in agile teams 
• The culture and communication required for agile environments
• How discipline and standards contribute to agility

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an Agile Certified Professional certification from ICAgile and Certificate of Completion from NUS SCALE.

Mr Erik Yek


Erik Yek has over 20 years’ of combined work and practitioner experience in fields as diverse as business management, project management, executive and agile coaching, training and development, and DevOps. His main areas of focus include agile coaching, management development, information systems development, project management, business analysis, corporate strategizing, creative marketing, product positioning, practical research, leadership, team building, mind mapping, and other management “soft” skills.

Beginning in 2012 Erik has taken on the challenges of an agile coach and advisor and in this capacity he has since assisted over a dozen of mid- to large-sized private and government organizations to implement enterprise-level agile transformation initiatives with varying magnitudes of success.

In the capacity of an agile project leader Erik has helped numerous small and medium enterprises to conceptualize, initiate, deliver and deploy various categories of IT projects primarily through a combination of agile approaches such as Scum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, and Test Driven Development.

As a business developer, Erik has founded and managed a number of business startups, the latest of which is an IT consulting business specializing in marketing, project management, and systems solutions for the small and medium business segments in Singapore, Malaysia, and India. Previously, he led an international marketing firm in securing new business connections in the Middle East, China, India, New Zealand, Australia, and the U.S. Erik also has professional experience in turnkey project marketing, risk management, and executive education management.

Since 2013, Erik has obtained professional agile certifications in the forms of Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), ICAgile Certified Agile Project Manager (ICP-APM), ICAgile Certified Business Value Analyst (ICP-BVA), ICAgile Certified Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC), and Kanban Management Professional Level 1 (KMP-I). In late 2017 he received a Design Thinking certificate awarded by the Interaction Design Foundation of Denmark after graduating with distinction at the top 10 percent of the class. Since early 2018 Erik became certified as a DevOps practitioner and a DevOps coach.

Erik holds academic qualifications in the forms of a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Master of Applied Science degree, and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Erik also holds a professional trainer’s certification in Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) awarded by Singapore Work Development Agency.

Mr Steve Peacocke

Steve Peacocke has a background that spans 30+ years successfully consulting to organisations on corporate change and has significant experience leading teams from Senior Developer through Development Manager, Program Manager, then as on to CIO and COO for 300+ reports and now as CEO and lead trainer for DragonsArm.

A Certified ScrumMaster, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, and certified ICAgile trainer and member organisation, Steve brings significant real-life experience to his training.

From lecturing in first-year university subjects in the '90s and early 2000s on technical and business, through to full-time training in Business Systems Analysis and as an ICAgile certified trainer.
Steve is a very experienced trainer working with teams in New Zealand, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and the USA. From a multi-cultural family that includes English/Irish, Chinese, and Indian family members, Steve has always worked with cross-cultural and distributed teams. 

Ms Nidhi Chopra

Nidhi Chopra is a seasoned Agile Coach and Trainer with extensive experience in helping teams, senior executives and leadership teams with their transformation journey across the organisation. With more than 12 years of experience in Agile ways of working, including agile implementation, transformational change, leadership strategy and its execution, she has advised organisations in gaining enterprise agility using various frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and SAFe 5.0.

Nidhi has worked with multi-national organisations across Europe and SEA and possesses cross-functional/cross-cultural experience in Agile coaching, facilitating Agile trainings, User journey workshops and Design Sprints. Nidhi takes pride in supporting Business Leaders and core teams embrace a truly Agile mindset and enjoys seeing Leaders drive organisational change and operational excellence by empowering individuals and teams to reach their highest potential.
