What is the Joy of Learning?

It is a new programme launched by NUS SCALE in 2026, in collaboration with NUS schools and faculties, to focus on lifelong learning for personal development and fulfilment. The programme comprises a series of courses in areas such as music, philosophy, the science of living well, art appreciation, etc.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is for anyone who is interested in learning more about the areas in each course, for example, music appreciation, the art and science of living well, etc.

How many students will be in each class?

Each class will be capped at 25 learners, to facilitate interaction between the instructors and learners, discussions, and hands-on activities.

How will class be conducted?

Classes will be conducted in-person, in the style of small-group seminars, with discussions, practice, and hands-on activities.

Each course comprises one three-hour class a week, conducted over five weeks.

Who will my classmates be?

Your peers in class will come from many different backgrounds. Many will be NUS alumni, while others will hail from our partners in the programme. Participants will be of different ages and likely different nationalities.

Where will class be conducted?

Classes will be conducted on NUS campus.
