NUS Executive Visiting Fellows Programme

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Executive Visiting Fellows Programme is a non-degree, certificate programme designed for select global leaders to customise their NUS learning experience.

The programme allows individuals and groups to access professional development on their own terms, by combining courses within subject areas of immediate value to their careers. Participants can look forward to exciting classes, stimulating faculty engagements and inspiring discussions with other NUS students.

NUS Fellows are rewarded with unique insight into the latest advances in their domain, connections with industry experts and a rich network of ambitious peers.

Throughout the programme, participants are formally registered as NUS students and gain:

  • Admittance to NUS academic courses
  • Access to seminars, public lectures and lunchtime talks hosted at NUS schools
  • Admittance to university shared facilities to conduct research, meetings and discussions
  • Team mentorship with NUS faculty members

Admission Application

Application Periods

An Academic Year (AY) at NUS consists of two semesters and a special term (which occurs during the Semester 2 Vacation, and is divided into two parts of six weeks duration each):

  • Semester 1: Aug–Dec
  • Semester 2: Jan–May
  • Special Term (Part 1): May–Jun
  • Special Term (Part 2): Jun–Jul

For the Executive visiting Fellows Programme, there are two application periods for each AY:

Admission Requirements

The NUS Executive Visiting Fellows programme is offered on the following basis (with estimated time to complete the programme indicated below):

Academic

Bachelor's Degree (preferably with Honours) in Science, Engineering, Analytics, Medicine, Business or equivalent disciplines

Note: Candidates with academic qualifications other than the above may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by the department

Skill/Experience

Fellows must be professionals with a minimum of eight years of professional experience, or a mix of academic and professional experience

English Language

Applicants whose native tongue and medium of university instruction is not completely in English:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 85 (Internet-based), or
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum Academic score 6.0
Other

Applicants will be assessed based on their personal achievements as well as recommendations and official endorsements

Mode of Study and Programme Candidature

The NUS Executive Visiting Fellows programme is offered on the following basis (with estimated time to complete the programme indicated below):

Full-time 6 months (12 units)
or
12 months (24 units)



Note: International applicants must be accepted into an approved full-time course in Singapore to apply for a Student’s Pass. For more information, refer to the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website.

Programme Structure

The NUS Executive Visiting Fellows programme is a one or two semester coursework-based certificate programme comprising:  

  • Elective Course (12 Units per semester for up to two semesters)
  • Project work

Graduation Requirements

To graduate from the The National University of Singapore (NUS) Executive Visiting Fellows Programme, students must meet the following requirements:

Programme and/or Specialisation

Read and pass, or audit, a total of 12 or 24 Units

Course and/or Qualification

Not Applicable

Grade Point Average (GPA)

Minimum 3.0 (out of maximum 5.0) for enrolled course.

Other

Complete and present a project completed under guidance from NUS faculty members

Fees and Financial Assistance

Kindly note that all fees for the NUS Executive Visiting Fellows programme quoted on this page are exclusive of prevailing GST, unless otherwise stated.

The University reserves all rights to review fees as necessary and adjust accordingly without prior notice.

1 semester: S$30,900.00 (excluding GST) /
S$33,681.00 (including 9% GST)

2 semester: S$51,500.00 (excluding GST) /
S$56,135.00 (including 9% GST)

S$50 (including GST)

  • Non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Limited to one application submission per intake, for up to a maximum of five programmes/courses per application
Acceptance

S$5,000 (including GST)

  • Payable upon acceptance of offer
  • Non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Will be credited towards tuition fees
