NUS Lifelong Learning (L3) - SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP)

SkillsFuture Career Transition Programmes (SCTPs) is a national workforce initiative by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) for organisations to potentially recruit mid-career individuals with newly-acquired industry-relevant skill sets that are aligned to their firms' business needs. It is a Train-and-Place programme where the SCTP trainees will attend training courses and other immersive learning activities, in addition to NUS' career advisory services and employment facilitation.

 

Employers
To support the SCTPs under a Train-and-Place mode, participating Employer Partners (EPs) can tap on additional sources of manpower and meet their manpower needs by providing mid-career switchers with an opportunity to work in your enterprise.

As an EP, your organisation will be entitled to:

Publicity on NUS website indicating you are an EP for the NUS SCTPs.
To date, NUS is delighted to collaborate with more than 35 EPs across diverse sectors to transform their workforce.

Access to SCTP graduates for recruitment as skilled professionals

No financial costs

Access dedicated NUS job portal

Sit in for class observations during SCTP trainings

Speaker opportunities to speak with SCTP trainees during their trainings

Participate in networking sessions and career fairs

Provide projects for SCTP trainees to be worked on, on a voluntary basis

Individuals
The SCTPs support mid-career individuals in attaining industry-relevant skill sets to boost their employability and access new opportunities to pivot to new sectors or job roles through this 4-month Train-and-Place programme.

Career Guidance

Discuss with career coaches and get personal help with establishing your professional path.

Training Allowance

Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above can tap on a maximum of 24 months of training allowance over their lifetime. For more information, please refer to the link

SkillsFuture Course Fee Funding

Enjoy funding of up to 95% of course fees. Plus, offset out-of-pocket course fees for SCTP with SkillsFuture Credit.

SkillsFuture Credit top-up

From 1 May 2024, SkillsFuture Credit top-up of $4,000 will provide greater support for mid-career Singaporeans aged 40 years and above to further offset out-of-pocket course fees for the SCTP.

Application

Applicant submits profile brief and resume

Evaluation Criteria

  • Accuracy and relevancy 
  • Committee review and recommendations 
  • Shortlisted applicants will be notified to attend an interview

Candidate Enrolment in SCTP

Candidate enrols as SCTP trainee through NUS Lifelong Learning Application Portal (L3AP)

Employment Facilitation

  • SCTP trainee attends pre-employability workshop 
  • Career advice on resume writing, interview strategies and techniques

  • Submission of application is not a confirmation of course enrolment.
  • Our course coordinator will notify you only if you are shortlisted for further evaluation after they have reviewed your application. 
  • Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
  • Enrolment will only be confirmed upon payment of course fee 14 working days before the commencement of course.
