OVERVIEW
Course Advanced Placement Credit (CAPC) Tests are optional and conducted to allow applicants to show their competency in a subject area, whether it has been developed from their work experience, diploma education and/or other relevant means (e.g. self-learners, holders of diplomas in non-information technology (IT) / analytics subject areas with relevant IT / Analytics work experience, etc.).
An email will be sent to successful admission applicants on the CAPC Test registration deadline, process and fee payment method. Applicants who have attempted the CAPC Test will be informed on the test outcome via email approximately a week after each test.
UNITS
Applicants have an option to select the following CAPC Tests:
- TCX1001 Introduction to Computing
- TCX1002 Introduction to Programming (pre-requisite is to pass TCX1001 first)
- TCX1101 Introductory Mathematics
Each of the Tests is based on a course in the BIT curriculum. The syllabus for each course can be found through a search on NUSMods. Please select the current Academic Year and Semester when using the search function (e.g. 2021/2022, Semester 1).
There will be no lessons scheduled prior to CAPC Tests and no provision of study notes. For each CAPC Test they pass, applicants can earn 4 Units toward the respective course.
