Youth Programme: Digital Business Management

COURSE OBJECTIVES

What is Digital Business Management and Why is it Important. Digital business management is the process of leveraging digital technology to reinvent business models and transform a company's products to create great customer experiences. The following key topics will be covered in this programme:

  1. Business Ideation: Developing a new product or service that sets it apart from the competition.
  2. Design Thinking: Design a product or service with a focus on customer needs and experience through the various touchpoints through which customers interact with the product or service.
  3. Business Case: Build a business case to justify the proposal for a new product to launch in a market.
  4. Pricing Strategy: Choose a pricing strategy to maximize profits and value for shareholders and customers.
  5. Market Strategy: Formulate a go-to-market plan to successfully launch a new product or service in the market.

Over the course of these lectures, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand how digital business management plays a vital role in transforming traditional business practices to meet the demands of the digital era.
  2. Create an effective business pitch for a new digital product idea that leverages technology, data, and digital channels to improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, drive innovation, and gain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving business landscape.

Who Should Attend

High school and undergraduate students from any disciplines.

Pre-Requisites

Participants are expected to be able to read, write and communicate in English, as the programme will be conducted in English.

This course is targeted towards those who want to learn the skills and techniques to manage effectively digital products from cradle to grave in an ever-changing business landscape. There are no prerequisites for this course as the material will cover the basics of digital business management.

Mr. LEE Boon Kee

Senior Lecturer, NUS School of Computing

Boon Kee is a fervent advocate for building products that matter. Graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Information Systems and Computer Science in 1989. Started building software products in early career as a software engineer and then went into IT consulting working in companies such as HP, Sun Microsystems, and Accenture. Started journey into business and product management in 2012 by engaging with several companies on their digital transformation journeys to help them move from a project-driven to a product-centric business model in delivering digital products and services. Teaching Digital Product Management for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as working professionals in Singapore for past 10 years.

Successful participants who fulfill all program requirements, including meeting the minimum attendance and passing the assessment, will be awarded an e-Certificate of Completion and Assessment Report issued by NUS SCALE.
