Grab's continued efforts to empower its partners
Amidst prevailing global economic challenges and rapid technological transformations, the employment landscape in Singapore has undergone a profound transformation. In light of these changes, there is an increasing need to empower Singaporeans with skills and knowledge required to seize emerging opportunities and ensure their sustained relevance and adaptability in the dynamic workforce.

Collaborating with NUS to benefit Grab's partners
With data analytics identified as one of the top in-demand skills sought by many enterprises in Singapore, Grab has collaborated with the Faculty of Science at NUS to adapt and customise the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) in Data Analytics to align more precisely with the specific requirements of their partners' needs. The customised programme will feature real world case studies from Grab for learners to work on, and will provide a dedicated platform for their partners to collectively learn and network. Upon completion, Grab's merchant-partners and other enterprises will have the opportunity to recruit participants from this programme to support their digital transformation.

The GrabAcademy team will continue to assess market demand and interest, while working closely with NUS to deliver other SCTPs and curated learning and development solutions (such as Enterprise Transformation Project) to its partners in the future.

Mr Yee Wee Tang
Besides providing livelihood opportunities to our drivers, delivery and merchant-partners, we also want to support them in pursuing their aspirations. Unlike employed workers, gig workers don’t have corporate companies and line managers to help them figure out their career path or easy access to learning and development programmes. This is where we believe we can make a difference, and the reason we launched GrabAcademy in 2020. We believe our partnership with NUS will support more partners to upskill, reskill and gain access to better opportunities.”

Professor Chai Kah Hin
“Education has always fostered equality, and in the current climate of uncertainty, lifelong education plays a critical role in empowering communities and providing opportunities for growth. The National University of Singapore is committed to supporting lifelong learning by creating multiple pathways for advancement. Collaborations like the one we formalised with Grab today will help extend our reach into the gig community.”
